[pass] Error: target STRING not available

Hi,

When I use pass to copy a password to clipboard at first time it output this
error "Error: target STRING not available" because clipboard is empty.

This error can be reproduced with the follow command after boot system:

  xclip -o -selection clipboard

I'm using Debian Wheezy with awesome [1] and get the same error in cinnamon [2].
