[PATCH] Keep existing file extension for edit command

For a user that has EDITOR set to vim etc., this would not make a
difference (except maybe syntax highlighting in some edge cases).
For a user that set his EDITOR to xdg-open, this is a deliberate choice
and expected behaviour I guess?
